The very first meeting with the client is all about finding out about what the client wants from their garden, their likes and dislikes and what elements they want to change.
The design brief form is filled out during this meeting and photographs are taken of the current outdoor space.
Once the level of service is agreed, we can start work on designing the garden.
If you are able to fill in the design brief online, this will help provide some insight into your requirements prior to the consultation.
The second meeting will involve measuring the garden and the existing buildings and other features so that the concept plans can be drawn up. Soil samples will be taken to determine the type of soil makeup and what type of plants will grow well.
Moodboards will be provided and discussed to specify the style, colours and additional ideas for the garden.
At this meeting three drawings showing different concepts will be provided and the final plan will be discussed. If you wish to take some time to consider the plans we can agree to meet again to finalise the designs.
The Planting Plan will also be discussed at this meeting so that detailed analysis of the planting requirements can be produced.
When the final Master Plan and Planting Plans are ready to be handed over we will discuss timescales for your project and plan how the project can progress.
Some clients prefer a staggered approach, perhaps concentrating on the hard landscaping elements first before tacking the soft landscaping. Other clients prefer to start on the project straight away, so we will discuss realistic timescales for the project.
Building a garden with all the elements included can take time, and plants take time to mature into their prefered shape and size. Also, gardens evolve over time, and regular maintenance and reassessment is needed to keep it looking at its best.
We provide a full project management service to enable clients to be provided with quotes and premissions and costs for the project.
Once the design has been finalised and project timescales agreed, a project plan can be produced showing the tasks involved in building the garden and their approximate timings and costs.
Simultaneously, quotes an be obtained from Hard Landscapers and materials to be used can be discussed and costed. When comparable quotes are received, a start date can be agreed and approximate duration for the work.
Costs can then be provided for additional soil, trees and plants.
When the hard landscaping is complete, the plants and other soft elements can be ordered and planted out.
Aftercare instructions for the soft elements can be provided on request.
